Region gets $5.9 million for nursing training

Southeast Michigan colleges and universities will share almost $5.9 million in state grants to accelerate training for nurses and other health care professionals. In partnership with local hospitals or medical centers, schools plan to train registered nurses, clinical nurse faculty and others. Among Detroit-area partnerships is one between Harper University Hospital and Wayne State University , which will receive $1.2 million.
